Textile Poncho with Beaded Fringes and Jade - "Poncho Cleopatra", Turquoise
This is a stunner. Completely one of a kind and never made before. The first of its kind!
This shoulder pieces is wearable art that tells a story. Crafted from upcycled Mayan huipil textiles, each piece is a masterpiece in itself. These vibrant textiles carry the history of diverse Mayan communities, with patterns as unique as their origins. We honor their heritage by transforming every scrap piece into textile earrings or bracelets.
This poncho is shaped like an inverted triangle which is a symbol of power. That is why we named it after the powerful Cleopatra of Egypt.
The piece features hand-embroidered textiles from Patzún near Chimaltenango, known for its intricate floral designs. Adorned with our signature ceramic beads, they elegantly cascade across the chest, ensuring all eyes are on you. Moreover, this piece has an exquisite piece of authentic and precious jade stone. Experience the fusion of tradition and contemporary style – a true head-turner.
Each piece comes with a handmade "tipico" bag.
How to wear it: Wear it over a simple dress or top as a statement piece for those special events like gallery openings, festivals, or even as your accessory for a wedding. Pro tip: Hang it on your wall on a stick when you're not using it! See video where we show you how to put it on and play around with the different looks it has.
Size description: This piece is one site and will fit all body types the same way a traditional poncho would. It will adapt to your body and shape. You can adjust the look by positioning it on the shoulders (see model photos for size reference).
Everything is handmade by Mayan artisans in Guatemala. See photo of the lead artisan, Maria, who put together this piece.
